POST 3 – INTRODUCING SAMUEL

As Emily finished the song, she had tears in her eyes, and she couldn’t even see anyone but Santana and the guy next to her. But Damien; sitting on his couch watching on his TV knew that they were Caitlyn’s tears. Caitlyn’s tears for him. That Caitlyn still felt that she had been left. That he had left her. He sat there lost in thoughts during 2 scenes that didn’t involve anything with Caitlyn. Then he saw the guy with dreadlocks look at her as Emily got books out of her locker. The shot switched to Emily staring at her phone for a second before shutting her locker. “Hey” said the guy. Emily looked to her left and saw him. “Hi” she said smiling shyly. The guy was dressed in classic rock ensemble; skinny leg jeans, a sexy unbuttoned shirt with a singlet top underneath, and his dreads flowed free. “I’m Samuel, I’m in Glee club too” he introduced himself, “I saw your audition…it was hot…Santana was proud of you” he said smiling. “You know her from somewhere?” he asked, realizing she had to. Emily nodded. “I’m Emily…uh, you already knew that” she said awkwardly glancing away and going red. “Does that mean I made it in?” Another awkward pause as Samuel laughed and nodded. “wow, awesome..oh and thankyou by the way….Oh, I was in Santana’s English class in year 7, we used to live next door to each other, then I moved away, and now I’m back for senior year.” She said, finding her map of the school. “What do you have?” Samuel laughed. Emily reached for her timetable as a big bulky jock smashed into her pushing her into Samuel. Samuel caught her as her stuff went flying and a slushy hit her in the back. He held onto her for a minute until she pulled back; tears in her eyes. The screen shot to the bully walking on and laughing then back to Samuel, who stared concerned at Emily. Emily refused to look at him as she picked up her bag, her books and her timetable before slipping off her jacked and putting it in her bag. The screen then moved to a big bruise on Emily’s back, that made Damien gasp even though he knew (hoped) it wasn’t real. Samuel gently touched it and Emily flinched. “That wasn’t from Karofsky” Samuel said softly. Damien assumed that was the bully that just pushed her. The shorter blonde pretended not to hear him. Samuel gripped her other shoulder and forced her face up to him. “Em” he said. Emily shook her head slowly before making him let go and dropped herself down against a row of lockers and bursting into tears.

Samuel glanced around, the corridor was empty. He slid down next to her, and gently took her shaking hand. He didn’t know what caused those bruises, an abusive boyfriend, abusive family or maybe a life threatening illness. But he knew that he couldn’t leave her like this. So he held her hand, wrapped his other arm around her and began singing a song he had found years ago that had helped him through a difficult time.
